Joyce Willson

Joyce (Cain) Willson, 82, of Bunker Hill, Indiana, died Saturday, October 18, 2025, at her home in Kokomo, Indiana. She was born in 1943 to Samuel Cain and Mary Jane Wrights Cain.  Joyce attended Bunker Hill high school and graduated from Purdue University. She was a member of McGrawsville Community Church. Joyce is survived by her husband Edward Willson, her four children, Beth Price and husband Steve, Donald Willson and wife Patty, Sarah Dexter and husband Daryl, and Allen Willson and his wife Jami. Joyce is also survived by two siblings, Barbara Cain Kitchel, and Max Cain, and preceded in death by brother Jon Cain and preceded in death by great grandson Cillian Dewell.   

Joyce was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother to 13 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 4 great-grandchildren. During her lifetime she took joy in heading the children’s ministry at Bennet’s Switch Community Church and later at McGrawsville Community Church.  She was a member of the Maconaquah school board for many years, and she served on the Miami County election committee as well.  She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and loved researching and documenting her family’s genealogy as a hobby.  

The family will receive visitors at Murray-Weaver Funeral Home, 401 S. California St., Galveston, IN 46932, on Thursday, October 23 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.  Services will be held at the same location at 2:00 pm, after which a private burial will be conducted graveside with family members.  Memorial contributions may be given to McGrawsville Community Church in memory of Joyce.
