Trash Pickup

LOGANSPORT
Thursday, November 27, 2025– No trash or recycle pickup for City of Logansport residents
Friday, November 28, 2025 – Thursday’s trash/recycle pickup for City of Logansport residents
Saturday, November 29, 2025 – Friday’s trash/recycle pickup for City of Logansport residents

GALVESTON
Trash pickup in Galveston will be on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025 due to the holiday.

Closures

Cass Area Transit will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28, 2025.

Cass County Government Building (courthouse) and Cass County government offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 & Friday, Nov. 28, 2025.

All Logansport City Government Buildings will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28, 2025. Regular service will resume Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.

Galveston Town Hall will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28, 2025.

The Walton & Tipton Township Public Library will be closed Nov. 27 and 28, 2025 in honor of Thanksgiving. The library will reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29.

Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Thursday, November 27 Friday, November 28, and Saturday, November 29 in observance of Thanksgiving. Branches will resume
regularly scheduled business hours on Monday, December 1. Customers with a vehicle registration set to expire on November 28, or needing to conduct any other business with the BMV, are encouraged to complete their business ahead of this extended holiday closure. Remember, customers can conduct many transactions online at the myBMV website or at any of their kiosks. U.S. Postal Service: There will be no mail delivery and post offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025.

Events

Christmas in the Park

Enjoy over 50 dazzling light displays, dozens of glowing trees, and the kaleidoscope tunnel that’s pure Christmas wonder at the 9th Annual Christmas in the Park hosted by the Logansport Parks and Recreation Foundation. Nov. 25 – Jan. 4, 2025 at Spencer Park, 3319 High Street in Logansport. Opening night will be Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025 at 5 p.m. with special activities and a walk-thru night. Lights on from dusk to dawn. Monday and Tuesday nights are walk-through only. Free will donations accepted.

Turkey Trot

The annual Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving morning (Nov. 27) at the Cass County YMCA. You may encounter road closures along the route during the event.

IHSAA Class 1A State Championship Football

The Pioneer Panthers will play South Putnam at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

$20 per person per day. Children age five and younger admitted free. All seats general admission. Per Lucas Oil Stadium policy, all ticket sales will be digital only; printed tickets will not be used. All purchased tickets will be sent as mobile tickets to the purchaser’s smart phone and that verification should be shown at the admission gate. Mobile tickets should be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster.com or via the Ticketmaster mobile app (Ticketmaster service fees apply). Digital tickets may also be purchased in person at the Lucas Oil Stadium Box Office (without service fees) during business hours (credit card purchases only).

All six state championship games will stream exclusively on IHSAAtv.org and the IHSAAtv suite of apps (iPhone, Android phone, Roku, Amazon Firestick, AppleTV, and Android TV) via pay-per-view for $20 per game and $25 for all games.

All six state championship games will be broadcast on radio affiliates of the IHSAA Champions Radio Network.

Free Carousel Rides

The Cass County Carousel will be open both Friday, November 28, and Saturday November 29, 2025 from 1-5 p.m. The Cass County Community Foundation’s “Thanks-for Giving” Grant will provide funds to be used to pay the expenses for the Carousel’s Friday and Saturday opening after the Thanksgiving holiday and will allow all rides to be free. | More i nfo

Light Up Logansport

The Light Up Logansport Parade will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2025.

Nov. 28, 2025
2 p.m. – Free Christmas Movie at the State Theatre
4 p.m. – Food and craft vendors near The Depot
6 p.m. – Light Up Logansport Parade starts at 8th and E. Broadway and ends at 4th and Market.
After parade – Community Christmas Tree Lighting and Santa at The Depot

Small Business Saturday

Logan’s Landing’s annual Downtown Christmas Open House will be held on Small Business Saturday, which is Nov. 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors will also be at the Iron Horse Park / Farmer’s Market / Little Turtle Waterway area from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. | More info
