
Lewis Cass Marching Kings seek 12th State Title with Dr. Seuss-Inspired show, “Think and Wonder, Wonder and Think”

The Lewis Cass High School Marching Kings, the reigning ISSMA Open Class D State Champions, are set to conclude their competition season this Saturday as they vie for the state title at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The band’s highly creative 2025 production, “Think and Wonder, Wonder and Think,” draws inspiration from the boundless imagination of Dr. Seuss, promising a vibrant and memorable performance.
The Lewis Cass Marching Kings, under the direction of Alan Hinshaw & Dylan Humburg, will perform their original show, featuring music by Don Barrett and show design by Jack Pursifull, in the final competition of the season against the state’s top ten bands in their class.
A Record of Excellence
The Lewis Cass Marching Kings continue to represent the pinnacle of high school band excellence in Indiana:
● State Finals Streak: The band holds the state record for the most consecutive appearances, making this their 43rd straight trip to the ISSMA State Finals.
● Championship Pedigree: They are defending their 2024 State Championship and are competing for their 12th state title in program history. They also have earned 11 runner-up placements.
The band invites the entire Lewis Cass community, students, parents, alumni, and fans to join us for an enthusiastic send-off to show our support and pride for the Marching Kings as they embark on their quest for their 12th state title. Bring signs, wear your Cass gear, and cheer loudly as the band boards the buses at 12:15 p.m. from the west parking lot at the high school.
Let’s give them the energy and encouragement they need before they take the field at Lucas Oil Stadium!
The Marching Kings will perform their incredible 2025 show, “Think and Wonder, Wonder and Think,” at 4:40 p.m. at the Lucas Oil Stadium. Awards for Class D will follow at 7:10 p.m. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or at the Lucas Oil Stadium ticket office the day of the event.
