Anna Hankins, 90, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, November 27, 2025, at the Edgewood Home in Onward.
Born December 6, 1934, in Delphi, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur K. and Edith (Timberman) Lucas. She graduated from Delphi High School.
Anna was a devoted homemaker who also embraced the cherished role of “Pastor’s Wife.” Her gentle spirit was both a source of strength and a guiding influence in every sermon her husband preached. She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church in Lafayette. Deeply devoted to her family, she loved hosting gatherings-especially during the holidays. It was emotional, yet profoundly fitting, that she passed away on Thanksgiving Day, a day dedicated to family and fellowship around the table-two joys she treasured most.
She was widowed unexpectedly when her husband, Pastor Ralph D. Hankins, passed away on November 1, 1983. She later married Donald Hankins, who also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children: Gary Hankins; Janet (Dale) Schneidt; Brenda Hankins, widow of her late son Mike Hankins; Jim (Terri) Hankins; Richard Hankins and Steve (Debbie) Hankins. She is also survived by one brother, Sam Lucas; eighteen grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, both husbands, and son, Mike, Anna was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Lucas.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, with a funeral celebrating Anna’s life beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Nathan Eikenberry officiating.
Interment will follow in the Seceder Cemetery, Lockport.
