
Christmas Day fire damages two houses in Logansport

Logansport, IN: At 2:17 on the afternoon of December 25, 2025, the Logansport Fire Department, Logansport Police Department, and Cass County EMS were dispatched to 2227 High Street for the report of a house fire. Logansport Police Department arrived on scene and advised the house was fully engulfed in fire.
Crews from the Logansport Fire Department arrived on scene and began attack of the fire from the exterior while also applying water to the exterior of the residence located 2231 High Street, which was sustaining damage from radiant heat. Crews then moved interior attacking fire on the first and second floors, and the attic. It was reported that all occupants were out of the residence, and a primary search completed by crews confirmed that. Smoldering fire was also located on the second floor of 2231 High Street. District 1 Fire Department was requested for additional manpower, and an All Call was done to recall all available off duty LFD members.
The fire was brought under control in about an hour. Two LFD firefighters sustained injuries and were transported to Parkview Logansport Hospital, where they were treated and released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Logansport Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Logansport Police Department, Cass County Fire District 1, Cass County EMS, Logansport Building Commissioner, Logansport Utilities, and NIPSCO.
