José M. Gutiérrez Chávez, de 80 años, de Logansport, Indiana, falleció serenamente el miércoles 26 de noviembre de 2025 en Franciscan Health Lafayette East.
Nació el 25 de junio de 1945 en Michoacán, México, hijo querido de los fallecidos Adrián Gutiérrez y Catalina Chávez.
El 30 de mayo de 1974, en México, se unió en matrimonio con María Franco Pompeya, quien le sobrevive con amor.
José fue un albañil dedicado, entregado a su oficio y respetado por su arduo trabajo.
Fue un miembro fiel de la Parroquia Católica de Todos los Santos. Atesoraba el tiempo con su familia, disfrutaba trabajar en la granja y encontraba alegría en la pesca y en jugar al BINGO.
Le sobreviven su esposa, María, y sus hijos: Isabel Gutiérrez, Adrián Gutiérrez, Ricardo Gutiérrez, Máximo Gutiérrez, José Gutiérrez y Cristina Gutiérrez; un hermano, Silvino Gutiérrez; numerosos nietos; y un bisnieto.
La visita será de 4 a 8 p.m. el domingo 30 de noviembre en Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Se celebrará un Servicio Fúnebre el lunes, 1 de diciembre de 2025.
El entierro seguirá en el Cementerio Mount Hope.

Jose M. Gutierrez Chavez, 80, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in Franciscan Health Lafayette East.
Born June 25, 1945, in Michocan, Mexico, he was the son of the late Adrian Gutierrez and Catalina Chavez.
On May 30, 1974, in Mexico, he was married to Maria Franco Pompeya, who survives.
Jose worked as a bricklayer who was dedicated to his craft.
He was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish. He loved spending time with his family and working on the farm. He enjoyed fishing and playing BINGO.
Surviving with his wife are his children, Isabel Gutierrez, Adrian Gutierrez, Ricardo Gutierrez, Maximo Gutierrez, Jose Gutierrez, and Cristina Gutierrez; one brother, Silvino Gutierrez; many grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. Sunday, November 30th, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2025, in the funeral chapel.
Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
