Two vehicle crash in Cass County claims one life

On Friday, December 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., Cass County Central Dispatch received multiple calls about a two-vehicle crash on State Road 29 at the US 24 ramp to US 35/SR 29 (Tyson Exchange). Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with Indiana State Police, Cass County Fire District #1, Cass County Emergency Medical Services, and the Cass County Coroner’s Office. The initial scene assessment showed that a Nissan Rogue was traveling westbound on the ramp and crossed into the path of a southbound Ford Transit van.

Investigation by Deputy Bryce Hall revealed that 78-year-old Kenneth Miller of Westpoint,IN,was driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue on the westbound US 24 ramp to State Road 29 when he failed to yield to a 2020 Ford Transit van traveling southbound on State Road 29. 39-year-old Agustin Diaz Santana of Romeoville, IL, was driving the Ford Transit van. Agustin Diaz Santana refused medical treatment at the scene.

Kenneth Miller was transported to the Parkview Logansport Hospital helipad for a medical helicopter flight to a trauma center in Fort Wayne. Mr. Miller died from his injuries before the flight was initiated.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene with substantial damage. The roadway was partially closed for approximately one and a half hours for crash investigation and cleanup.

Family members have been notified.

The crash is still under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Cass County Coroner’s Office. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the office at 574-753-7800.
