Deitrich announces reelection campaign

Cass County Commissioner Mike Deitrich announced Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 that he will seek in the 2026 election another term in office.

Deitrich has served as a Cass County Commissioner for District 3 since 2023. He stated that “working with dedicated department heads of Cass County government, other elected officials, and the citizens of Cass County has made the office a pleasurable and rewarding experience that I truly enjoy. THe office of Commissioner is best served by an individual with a wide knowledge base, a sound background in government procedures, the availability to attend meetings, continuous interaction with Cass County citizens, and life experience living and working in Cass County. I believe I have consistently demonstrated all oft hose desirable qualities.”

A native of Clinton Township and a 1975 graduate of Logansport High School, Deitrich is a lifelong farmer who has also worked as a paramedic for Cass County EMS and a firefighter for the City of Logansport. He currently serves as chief of the Clinton Township Fire Department, as a trustee and treasurer of the St. John’s Cemetery Association, and as a Republic Precinct Committeeman. Past elected positions include Eel Township Advisory Board member and Clinton Township Trustee.

Deitrich and his wife, Karen, are the proud parents of five children and eight grandchildren.
