Indiana House accepting student applicants for 2026 page program
Last Updated on January 14, 2026 by Cass County Communication Network
State Reps. Ethan Manning (R-Logansport) and Heath VanNatter (R-Kokomo) said Hoosier students who are interested in learning more about state government are invited to participate in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2026 legislative session.
Manning said pages can watch the legislative process in person, tour the historic Statehouse building and interact with their state representative. The full-day program is available for students who are 13 to 18 years old. Pages are permitted by Indiana law to receive a one-day excused absence from school for their participation.
“The page program allows students to meet with House staff and lawmakers during the legislative session,” Manning said. “This experience gives them a better understanding of state government and how the legislative process works.”
VanNatter said the program begins in January with opportunities every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until the end of the legislative session. Eligible students and their parents are encouraged to submit an application corresponding with the date they would like to page. Pages are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on their chosen day, and groups serve together on Wednesdays. To schedule a group, contact the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov.
“I encourage students from our community to consider applying to be a page this legislative session,” VanNatter said. “It’s a meaningful experience that can teach an understanding of government and inspire future involvement in public service.”
Students are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
