Halvin Clements, age 70, Burnettsville, passed away Sunday February 8, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 10, 1955, to the late Harold and Doris (Talbert).

In his early years he helped on his family farm and showed horses. He was employed by the TP&W Railroad until a motorcycle accident changed the course of his life. Following the accident, Halvin continued to work as a farmhand, lending his time and talents to the Mennen and Suiter family farms.

On January 23, 1982, he married Beckie (Shaw), who survives. The most meaningful work Halvin ever did was raising his children and being present in their lives, always instilling in them the value of doing everything with “strength and honor.” He was never defined by limited function of his limbs. Instead, he taught his children to swim, play basketball and baseball, ride bikes, fish, cut wood, and live fully. He took trips with them and faithfully attended countless activities over the years. His heart grew even fuller when he became a Papa. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and there was nothing he loved more than having one of them sitting on his lap. He especially enjoyed fishing with a cane pole alongside his sons and grandchildren. Halvin also loved watching westerns, listening to oldies’ music, cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events (while offering his own critique of the refs and umpires), helping his friend Kenny farm, attending the 4-H Fair (especially supporting the White County Horse and Pony kids), and going to festivals with his wife and family.

He was a member of Lockport Church.

Surviving along with his wife are children Donnie Clements of Monticello, Paige (Jason) McAninch of Logansport, Damon Clements (companion Brittany) of Burnettsville, Halvin II (Taylor) Clements of Delphi, and Cody (Shelby) Clements of Logansport. The light of his life his grandchildren Abigail, Josie & Theodore Clements, Case and Allis McAninch, Reegyn, Remmi, and Ryiett Clements, Charlie, Liam, & Eden Clements, Penelope Grace and CW Clements, and host grandchildren Sara Nissinen (Finland) and Lorenz Riethmuller (Germany). Additional survivors include his brother Harry (Texas) several cousins, friends, bonus kids and grandkids, and his special cat Albert.

He was preceded in death by parents Harold and Doris, brother Harold, sisters Duana and Doris, and grandson, Rydder.

Friends and family may call on February 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a service immediately following at 6:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Nord Zootman, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home.
