
David Lapierre

David P. Lapierre, age 85, Lafayette and formerly of Logansport, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, March 8, 2026, in St. Mary Healthcare Center, Lafayette.
Born January 22, 1941, in Webster, Massachusetts, Dave was the son of Leo and Ruth Kindler Lapierre.
He was married August 4, 1962, to Nancy Hauss Lapierre, who survives, residing in Lafayette.
David was retired from the Logansport School Corporation, with a thirty-four year teaching career from 1962 to 1996. During that time, he also assisted in developing the “Berry Patch” and was its director.
As hobbies and interests, he enjoyed gardening, photography, traveling, and was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and Boston Red Sox.
Dave was a long-time, faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he served in many capacities during his years of membership.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Tammy (Eric) Rody, Lafayette; son, Mark Lapierre, DVM, Greensboro, NC; three grandchildren, Jesse (Lauri) Atkinson, Sophie Lapierre, Ryan Lapierre; three great-grandchildren, Alice Atkinson and twins, Harper and Hannah Atkinson.
The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14th, at St. James Lutheran Church. Pastor Scott Woodhouse and Rev. K. C. Dehning will officiate at the service.
Visitation and a gathering of friends will be one hour prior to the service, also at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Logansport, or Grace Lutheran Church, Lafayette.
