The community of Reynolds, in neighboring White County, will have the privilege of hosting The Wall That Heals, the official traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. from June 4-7, 2026.
Standing 375 feet long and 7.5 feet tall at its highest point, the three-quarter scale replica honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. Engraved into the black granite are the names of 58,281 service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The traveling exhibit includes the Wall replica, a mobile Education Center, and a ceremonial space designed for reflection, remembrance, and healing. By bringing the memorial to communities across America, The Wall That Heals gives visitors an opportunity to honor those who served and reflect on the lasting impact of the Vietnam War.
Recognized by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) — the organization that maintains the original memorial in Washington — The Wall That Heals is the only traveling wall officially affiliated with the memorial.
The exhibit will be hosted at the White County Fairgrounds in Reynolds and will be free and open to the public 24 hours a day during its stay.
As The Wall That Heals makes its way to Reynolds, community members across the region are invited to help welcome the memorial during a special motorcade escort on Tuesday, June 2.

The escort will begin at noon and travel through several communities, including Logansport, before arriving at the White County Fairgrounds around 1:10 p.m. Along the route, there are 14 designated viewing locations where residents can gather, wave flags, show support for veterans, and take part in this meaningful journey.
The Logansport Fire Department plans to raise the Garrison flag at 8th and Broadway in Logansport, along with Cass County Fire District 1.

Whether you have a personal connection to the Vietnam War, wish to honor those who served, or simply want to witness a memorable moment in our community’s history, organizers encourage the public to participate. Families, friends, veterans, and supporters are all invited to help give The Wall That Heals the welcome it deserves.
Those planning to travel to the Grissom Air Museum for the escort should be aware that a section of roadway along the route is currently undergoing chip-and-seal work.
Travelers coming from the US 24 area may encounter a detour. The official detour route is:
US 35 north from Logansport → SR 16 west from Royal Center → SR 39 south from Buffalo → US 24 toward Monticello.
Organizers say the construction crew has agreed to temporarily stop work and allow the escort procession to pass safely through the area.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, watch for posted signage, and help give The Wall That Heals a proper “Welcome Home.”
