JoAnn Collins, 69, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 20, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones at I.U. Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
Born on December 11, 1956, in South Bend, Indiana, JoAnn was the daughter of the late Dorese Ann Calvin and Ermal Ray Kimble. She lived a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
JoAnn was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Doran Collins, on September 3, 2006. Together they shared years of love, companionship, and devotion to their family.
She was a dedicated spouse, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. JoAnn loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and attended as many of their school activities, sporting events, and special occasions as possible. She was their biggest supporter and took pride in celebrating every achievement, big or small.
JoAnn also found fulfillment in her work as a town clerk and treasurer. She enjoyed serving her community, working with the public, and building lasting relationships with those she encountered throughout her career.
A faithful member of Heartland Church-Rochester, JoAnn’s faith was an important part of her life and provided strength, comfort, and guidance throughout the years.
She is survived by her husband, Doran Collins; her son, Mark Kimble, and his wife, Madissen, of Carmel, Indiana, and Mark’s daughters, Kynlee, Taylin, and Miley; her daughter, Brittany Brent, and her husband, Corbin, of Georgia; her step-daughter, Dana Jackson, and her husband, Scott, along with Dana’s children, Evan and Haley; her great-grandchildren, Greycen and Averie; her step-son, Brandon Collins, and his wife, Sherry, and Brandon’s son, Joe; and her brother, Larry Kimble of Kewanna, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Kimble.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Metzger Chapel, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna with Pastor Jim Howard officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will follow at Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Kewanna.
