Prudence P. Martin

Prudence P. Martin, 95, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026, in Woodbridge Health Campus.

Born September 6, 1930, in Burnettsville, she was the daughter of Mary Beagle.

On January 14, 1949, in Burnettsville, she was married to Raymond John Martin. He preceded her in death March 13, 2016

A 1948 graduate of Royal Center High School, Prudence continued her education at Indiana University, earning her certification as a cytology technician. For more than 40 years, she devoted her career to the laboratory at Memorial Hospital in Logansport, where she played a vital role in early cancer detection. Through her careful work preparing and examining cellular samples, she helped provide timely results that often prevented more serious complications for countless patients.

Prudence was a great mom, a strong and independent woman and a good person. For the past two years, she appreciated the love and care of the staff, volunteers, and fellow residents at Woodbridge. She especially enjoyed Bingo – she never missed a game.

She is survived by two sons: Jack L. (Chris) Martin, of Noblesville, Indiana, and Mark A. (Debra) Martin, of Phoenix, AZseven grandchildren: Ken (Amy) Martin, Michael (Lindsay) Martin, Meghan Martin, Matthew Martin, Ashley (Taylor) Ferguson, Taylor Martin, and Kelsey (Edrick) Villalobos; and five great-grandchildren: JR Martin, Alex Martin, Samantha Martin, Shepherd Martin, Emily Martin and Millie Villalobos.

She was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Jack B. Martin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2026, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Graveside services will follow in Bell Center Cemetery, Royal Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bell Center Cemetery for their perpetual care fund.
