Arshavin “Ash” Pierre, 17, of Lafayette, Indiana, formerly of Logansport, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Parkview Logansport Hospital’s emergency room following a drowning accident at France Park. Many heroic efforts were made to save him, and his family is deeply grateful to everyone who tried so hard to help.
Born February 10, 2009, in Delmas, Port Au Prince, Haiti, he was the son of Anounce Pierre and Yvanne Pierre Francois, who survive in Lafayette.
Ash was employed at McDonald’s. He was a student at Harrison High School in Tippecanoe County. A very athletic young man, Ash was looking forward to his favorite time of the year – football season. He was active in the New Life Alliance Haitian Church in Logansport.
Surviving with his parents are two sisters, Debroah Ruthmie Pierre and Vannesley Annie Pierre; one auntie, Sherline Pierre Celour; and one uncle, Desable Wilnor.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Ash Pierre will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2026, in the New Life Alliance Church, 3529 High Street Road, Logansport, IN 46947. Pastor Paul Gaspard will officiate at the service.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
