Kasen Tyler Schmidt

Kasen Tyler Schmidt, 19, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026, in IU Methodist, Indianapolis.

Born June 22, 2007, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Chelsey (Allen) Sommers and Kenny Schmidt.

A 2025 graduate of Logansport High School, Kasen was proud to work in construction doing drywall.

He enjoyed truck meets and working on his own truck. His hobbies included fishing, playing the guitar, and shooting pool. Kasen always enjoyed playing baseball and basketball.

Surviving are his mother, Chelsey Sommers; his father, Kenny Schmidt; one brother, Elijah Schmidt; one sister, Alayna Sommers; his maternal grandfather, Bruce Allen, his paternal grandfather, Jim Schmidt; paternal grandmother, Vicki Oldfather; his paternal great-grandmother, Norma Clem; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Darlene Allen .

Visitation will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 23 at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, Indiana.

A funeral service celebrating Kasen’s life will begin at 3 p.m. in the funeral chapel.

Interment will follow in the Little Deer Creek Cemetery, Onward, Indiana.
