
William Paul Haner

William Paul Haner, age 84, of Logansport, passed away at 12:35 am on Friday August 21, 2026, in Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis.
Born December 8, 1941, in Logansport to the Late Paul C. and Loretta M. (Adair) Haner. On February 21, 1964, he married Susan K. Steel who survives.
Bill retired from the Logansport Fire Department after many years of dedicated service. Prior to becomming a Fireman he served in the United States Army from 1960 – 1963. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill treasured spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was watching them play sports as they grew up or watching them become parents to all the grandbabies. He had a very special bond with his boys and grandchildren.
Surviving with his wife Susan, are two sons, Brian P. (Wendy) Haner, Peru; W. Bradley (Mary) Haner, Florida; one sister, Barbara Gochenour, Logansport; three grandchildren, Jake Haner, Zach Haner and Evelyn Haner; four great grandchildren, Benni, Sylis, Berkli, Salem and one on the way; and we must mention his faithful K-9 Klohe.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 – 6 pm Friday August 28, 2026, in the Gundrum Funeral Home.
A private burial, with Full Military Rites, will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport.
Memorial contributions, in honor of Bill, will be to the Cass County Humane Society.
