Samuel W. Prough

Samuel W. Prough, 71, of Logansport, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born December 11, 1954, in Logansport, Samuel was the son of the late Alven and Helen (Shirley) Prough. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

An outdoorsman at heart, Samuel especially enjoyed fishing and camping and the time spent simply being outdoors. When he wasn’t outside, he could often be found watching an old Western or, on occasion, settling in for a good sci-fi movie.

On May 15, 1980, Samuel married Dorma K. (Marburger) Prough. Together, they shared more than 38 years of marriage before her passing on September 1, 2018.

Samuel’s family was an important part of his life, and he leaves behind his son, Aaron Prough of Logansport; and sisters, Eulie Yerkes, Kimberly Brown, and Shirley Nordstrom; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Dorma, Samuel was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Prough; and brother, Alven Prough Jr.

Cremation will take place, and a celebration of Samuel’s life will be held at a later date.
