Beckie Clements, of Burnettsville, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 after several years battling breast cancer. She was born on September 27, 1954, to the late Donald (Chic) and Florence Shaw.
In her early years, she spent her days working on her family’s dairy farm and enjoyed showing horses in her free time. It was through her love of horses and horse showing that she met her husband, Halvin Clements. On January 23, 1982, they were married. Halvin preceded her in death earlier this year.
Together, they raised five children and spent countless hours attending their children’s athletic events and 4-H activities. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every opportunity to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She also loved attending local festivals and supporting the White County horse and pony kids. For several years, she ran Shakes and Giggles at the White County Fair, where she served lemon shake-ups and her famous sweet tea. She took great pride in her little fair stand and the memories made there.
She was known for being a very strong-willed—and, at times, hard-headed—woman. She had a personality all her own and a way of making people smile. When asked how she was doing, she was often quick to respond with her signature phrase, “I’m just peachy.”
Her strong spirit, love for her family, and unmistakable personality will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.
She was a member of Lockport Church.
Surviving are her children Donnie Clements of Monticello, Paige (Jason) McAninch of Logansport, Damon Clements of Burnettsville, Halvin II (Taylor) Clements of Delphi, and Cody (Shelby) Clements of Logansport. The light of her life her grandchildren Abigail, Josie & Theodore Clements, Case and Allis McAninch, Reegyn, Remmi, and Ryiett Clements, Charlie, Liam, & Eden Clements, Penelope Grace and CW Clements, and host grandchildren Sara Nissinen (Finland) and Lorenz Riethmuller (Germany). She also leaves behind her and Halvin’s cat Albert.
Along with her spouse she was preceded in death by parents Donald and Florence Shaw, brothers John & Dennis Shaw, and grandson, Rydder.
There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate Beckie’s life Saturday, September 12, 2026 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Lockport Church. Service will be at 4:00 P.M. Pastor Nord Zootman will be officiating.
