Joint drug investigation leads to arrests

On February 2, 2026, the Cass County Drug Task Force and the Westfield Police Department Special Investigations Unit conducted a joint drug investigation that led to two search warrants for locations in Logansport. The search warrants were for the following locations: a residence in the 1600 block of Grant Street, Logansport and a residence in the 500 block of Bates Street, Logansport.

The search warrants were served simultaneously at the above locations. Investigators recovered approximately 12 pounds of suspected marijuana, 5 pounds of what is believed to be THC concentrate powder, approximately 100 THC carts, and one handgun at the Bates Street residence. April Haviland, Logansport, was arrested without incident and incarcerated in the Cass County Jail. Haviland was charged
with Dealing Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Maintaining a common Nuisance and Neglect of a Dependent.

Investigators recovered three rifles AR-15 style, three handguns, approximately one half pound of marijuana, approximately 35 prescription pills, approximately 50 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, approximately 500 rounds of ammunition. Isaiah Elkins, Logansport, was arrested without incident and incarcerated in the Cass County Jail. Elkins was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Maintaining a common Nuisance, Possession of a Legend Drug, Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia and Neglect of a Dependent.

The Cass County Drug Task Force and the Westfield Police Department Special Investigations Unit were assisted by Logansport Police Department Patrol Division and Logansport Police Department Criminal Investigation Division. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. No further information will be released at this time.
