EAP / IDA Specialist

Coordinates activities of the Energy Assistance Program (EAP) personnel and the Individual Development Account (IDA) program.  Counsels, refers, and/or aids high-risk/low-income individuals and families requiring the assistance of a social service agency.  Determines client’s eligibility for assistance in the IDA/EAP program.  Facilitates the implementation of Energy Education and other program opportunities for the Energy Assistance Program.  Refers clients to community resources and other organizations, as appropriate. Compiles records and prepares reports, as required or requested.  Ability to be compassionate, empathetic, and insightful, while maintaining respect for and sensitivity to the need and rights of families and their cultures.  Associate degree in Social work, psychology, or related field or combination of training and experience equal to two-year degree preferred.
