Logansport Fire Department responds to commercial building fire

Logansport, IN- At 8:01 a.m. on June 15, 2026, the Logansport Fire Department, Logansport Police Department, and Cass County EMS were dispatched to 720 Water Street in reference to a fire in the building. Myers Spring is located at that address. Cass County Fire District 1, which is located across the street radioed dispatch and advised there was smoke showing from their station. District 1 was requested to respond with their ladder truck.

LFD arrived on scene and were directed to the northeast side of the building where a fire in the dust collection system was located. Myers Spring supervisors advised all employees were out of the building. Crews were able to access the fire in the duct work, and it was extinguished using dry powder fire extinguishers. A search of the building was completed, and it was confirmed that all employees were out of the building. An All Call was done to recall all available off duty LFD members.

The fire was declared under control in about 10 minutes. Crews remained on scene for an extended period to ventilate the smoke from the building. The fire was classified as accidental. There were no injuries reported. The Logansport Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Logansport Police Department (drone), Cass County Fire District 1, Cass County EMS, Cass County Sherriff’s Department, Cass County Emergency Management, Logansport Utilities, and Cass County Traffic Control.
