Mark Alan Baker

Mark Alan Baker, age 77, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, in St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center of Delphi.

Born March 10, 1949, in Logansport, IN to the late Russell A. and Martha Jean (Steffey) Baker.

Mark was a retired farmer and had also worked for Herd Agri-Enterprises. He was a Veteran of the United State Army, serving from 1969-1971. He was a member of American Legion Post #60, where he served as Commander three times. Mark is also a member of Chef de Gare 40 & 8, Amvets of Monticello, Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge, Murat Temple, Logansport Shrine Club, Logansport Shrine Third Wheel Patrol and is a Life Member of the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization. Mark has enjoyed the lake life of Lake Freeman for the past several years, with his companion Carol, and valued spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his companion, Carol Roth, Monticello; one daughter, Krishanna (Joey) Shilling, Logansport; two sons, Jeff (Mary) Baker, Logansport; Brad (Shalan) Baker, Royal Center; three step sons, Mike (Katherine) Roth, Kokomo; Mark (Jennifer) Roth, Delphi; Scott (Tasha) Roth, Delphi; one sister, Lynne (Duane) Sell, Huntley, IL; eighteen grandchildren, Macee Baker, Jackson Baker, Lennon Shilling, Nora Shilling, Myka Roth, Jaden Roth, Jenna Roth, Brad Roth, Jeremiah Roth, Peyton Roth, Jordan Roth, Addie Roth, Hallie Roth, Cholie Roth, Mekenzie Gear, Emilee Gear, Katie Gear, Jordyn Dunner, Maggie Halterman, Avery Halterman and Sophia Halterman; eight great grandchildren, Paizley Roth, Oaklynn Roth, Stella Roth, Mason Roberts, Liam Roberts, Grayson Roth, Collins Roth and Rocky Roth; several nieces and nephews.

One daughter, Robin Baker, preceded in death.

A visitation will be held at the Gundrum Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 11:00 am – 2:00 PM where a funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm., with Pastor Tim Minnick officiating, followed by a burial with Full Military Rites, by the Cass County Honor Guard, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Delphi.

Prior to services there will be a Shriner’s walk by procession.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shrine Hospitals for Children.
