William “Chuck” Charles Wertz

August 22, 2026, William C. Wertz (Chuck) passed away peacefully in his sleep at Mulberry Health where he has resided for the past 3 years. 

Even though he suffered from Dementia he continued to entertain everyone with his humor and sarcasm.

Chuck was born in Lafayette, IN, February 9, 1948 to Wilson M. Wertz and Leah C. Wertz. When he was 4, they moved to Texas where he resided until 1988 when he moved back to Lafayette. He retired from Kraft Foods Global, Inc. in 2007

Surviving is his brother, Wilson M. Wertz, Jr. (Leslie) along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents and two sisters, Pamela Darling (Jerry) and Sandra Brown (Mackie)

The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff at Mulberry Health for their excellent care of Chuck.

Per Chucks request there will be no formal services.
