The Cass County Community Foundation is excited to announce a new $1 for $1 match opportunity to support the Lewis Cass Marching Band Trip to New York City for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The match period will begin on Monday April 6, 2015 and run to Monday April 13. All gifts must be new and made to the Cass County Community Foundation and marked for the Lewis Cass Band. Donations may be made in person, via U.S. Postal Service or through the CCCF website at www.casscountycf.org.

CCCF President Deanna Crispen said, “Our board of directors recognizes the tremendous ambassadors these young people are for our community. The trip to New York City to perform is a once in a lifetime opportunity and will provide unique educational experiences for the students beyond their performance. We are proud to support their hard work and years of excellence at the state level. We hope the community will join us and give so that we can meet the full match and write them a check for $40,000.”

Members of the award winning band found out last May that they had been selected to perform and have been working hard to raise the $172,000 required for all 147 band members to travel and participate. The students will spend a full week in New York and attend a performance of Phantom of the Opera, meet with cast and orchestra, and tour historic and popular landmarks. The student cost is $1175 each and the funds raised will be equally shared among the students. All adults are funding their own expenses.

The Cass County Community Foundation Office is located at 729 E. Market Street, Logansport and is open M-F, 9am-5pm. For more information, contact the foundation at 574-722-2200.
