Charles D. Dyer

Charles D. Dyer, age 94, Logansport, formerly of Royal Center, passed away at 11:45 a.m., on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born March 14, 1921, in Carroll County, he was the son of Charles Cecil and Ethel Rose Bougher Dyer.

On March 14, 1946, in Sharon, he was married Marjorie M. Etherington, who preceded him in death on January 15, 1999.

Charlie had been a farmer in the Royal Center area.

He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He joined the National Guard at the age of 40 and served for 17 years. Charlie belonged to and was an active member of the China-Burma-India veteran’s organization. He had been a member of the VFW Post 3790.

Surviving are sons, Tod O. Dyer (companion Karen), Logansport, and Tad A. Dyer, Royal Center; daughters, Rosie Dyer, Lafayette, Keneta (Ed) Summers, Sioux Falls, SD, and Kim Dyer, Logansport; brother, John K. Dyer, Bringhurst; six grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Two sons, Bud U. Dyer and Ted E. Dyer, a sister, Ruby Ryan, and great grandson, Blaine Charles Dyer preceded him in death.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, also at the funeral home.

Burial with full military honors will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Sharon, Indiana.
