Galveston man sustains serious injuries from anhydrous ammonia

A workplace incident seriously injured a worker at DeHaven Soil Service in Walton this afternoon. Jordan Sievers, 23, of Galveston, was working on a relief valve on an anhydrous nurse tank (farm transport tank) when it released anhydrous ammonia. Sievers sustained serious injuries from the anhydrous ammonia. He was treated at the scene by co-workers and ambulance crews from Galveston and Prompt Ambulance Service before being transported by helicopter to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
