Velma Doris Magers Rehwinkel, age 94, Logansport, passed away at 3:03 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015, at Golden Living Center-Sycamore Village, Kokomo.
Born January 21, 1921, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Boley and Mabel Kiser Zimmerman.
Velma was married to Paul Hess and then to John Rehwinkel, both of whom preceded her in death.
She had been employed for 32 years as an attendant at the Logansport State Hospital.
Surviving are daughters, Barb Alder, Dorothy (Richard) Kershner, Shirley (Randy) Coon, all of Logansport, and Fern Curtis Russellville, Ark.; sons, Paul (Bonnie) Hess and Patrick Hess, both of Logansport; daughter-in-law, Mary Hess, Logansport; 22 grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Velma in death were a son, Keith Hess; sisters, Mary Gaskins and Irene Sturgeon; and brothers, Harold Zimmerman, Richard Zimmerman, and Arthur Zimmerman.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015, at Kroeger Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken Smith officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the funeral.
Entombment will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
