Adam Michael McLeland

mclelandAdam Michael McLeland, 35, of Lake Jackson, TX formerly of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2015 in his home. Adam was born on September 5, 1979 to Gary and Darla McLeland in Indianapolis, Indiana. Adam married his college sweetheart, Kimberly Ann Hall in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 8, 2003.

Adam graduated from Indiana University with an undergraduate degree in Biology. He worked at Purdue University as an Industrial Hygienist and also obtained his Master’s degree in Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences.

In 2011 Adam joined the Dow Chemical family and moved his family from Indiana to Texas. Although his employment wasn’t long he still made a huge impact on the company and coworkers. In 2014, Adam was selected by independent professionals in his field to participate in the American Industrial Hygiene Associations’ prestigious Future Leaders Institute. He also led Dow’s Global Hazard Awareness team and interacted with employees world-wide. Adam became an associate industrial hygiene manager in Dow’s IH expertise center. Adam was part of a team of experts located all over the world. Living his passion to help protect worker health both locally, and across all of Dow.

Adam’s true passion was his family. He was the best husband and daddy to three beautiful young children. He enjoyed swimming, playing basketball, going on long walks, taking his son to the skate park, and enjoying time at the beach. Although he was a hard-working man, he always had time for his family and made sure we were happy.

Adam is preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Don Elliott (wife Cletha) of Logansport, IN, Ken McLeland (wife Mary) of Royal Center, IN, and Mark Tyler (wife Jean) of Logansport, IN, mother, Darla McLeland of Logansport, IN, his father-in-law, Mark Clements of Indianapolis, IN. He is survived by his dad, Gary McLeland (wife Cathy) of Rochester, IN, his mother-in-law, Carol Clements of Indianapolis, IN, his wife, Kim McLeland of Lake Jackson, and their three children, Jillian, Max, and Allison, sister-in-law Melissa Fletcher (husband William), sister-in-law, Kelly Clements, brother-in-law, Korey Clements (wife Tasha). Adam was loved by his entire family consisting of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is truly missed by all.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the Gundrum Funeral Home.
