brownHarold H. Brown, 86 of Kewanna passed away at 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2015 at his companion’s residence in Wheatfield.

Born on August 16, 1928 in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Harry and Ferrell (Freeman) Brown.  He married Rosamond Leiter in 1954 and she preceded him in death in 1994.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War.

Harold retired after 43 years from the Labors and Hod Carriers Union Local #274 in Lafayette.

He enjoyed woodworking, spending time outdoors, taking care of his yard, playing cards and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include children, Harold E. Brown of Kewanna, Ralph E. Brown of Monterey, David A. Brown of Buffalo and Tina Brown Jenkinson of Kewanna,  sisters, Phyllis Pownall of Rochester, Lola Lauder of Michigan, brothers, Richard Brown of Winamac and Leonard Brown of Mentone, companion, Iris Taylor of Wheatfield. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Brown.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. (EST), Friday, April 24, 2015 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna with Chaplain Bob Rawlins officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. (EST), Thursday at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Burial with Military Rites will be performed at Bruce Lake Cemetery.
