Orville F. Thomas, 90, of Strasburg, Colorado formerly of Grass Creek passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Prairie Creek Assisted Living Center in Strasburg.

Born on November 29, 1924 in Lucerne, he was the son of the late Floyd and Leona (Sutton) Thomas.

On May 14, 1944 he married Florence M. Ratcliff.  She preceded him in death on August 13, 2007.

He was a 1942 Grass Creek High School graduate, a graduate of Indianapolis University and an Indiana
State University graduate where he received his Master’s Degree in Education.

Orville was a decorated U.S. Army veteran serving in the European Theater during WWII.
He was a member of Grass Creek United Methodist Church, Grass Creek Lions Club, the National
Education Association and AARP.

Orville was a retired School Teacher from Eastern Pulaski School Corporation.

Survivors include his sons, Wayne Thomas (Sandra) of Florida and David Thomas (Ruth) of Bennett,
Colorado, sister, Bonnie Riggle of Fulton, 10 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and 2 great- great
grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his son and daughter in law, James and Linda Thomas, grandson,
Jamie Thomas and great grandson, Joshua Markulik.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2015 at Grass Creek United Methodist Church with Pastor
David Sommers officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home,
Kewanna Chapel.

Burial with Military Rites will be performed at Grass Creek Cemetery.
