Dakota James “Cody” Nilson

nilsonDakota James “Cody” Nilson, 17, of Fulton passed away at 11:23 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born on March 20, 1998 in Logansport, he was the son of Doug J.O. Nilson and Rebecca Minniear.

Cody had just finished his Junior year at Caston High School.  He enjoyed playing video games, riding dirt bikes and playing hacky sack with his friends.

Survivors include his father, Doug Nilson (Kim Brown) of Fulton, mother, Rebecca Minniear (Camron Vawter) of Kewanna, grandparents, Richard and Lois Nilson of Twelve Mile and Brenda Benedict of Logansport, Kile Minniear (Edith Austin) of Lafayette, great grandparents, Gerald and Janet Morehouse of Royal Center, brothers, Cole A. Nilson of Fulton, Cane J. Nilson of Fulton and Clyde A.L. Wilson of Star City.  Cody is also survived by several aunts, uncles and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Terry “Jake” Benedict and uncles, Tracy Nilson and Terry Benedict, Jr.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2015 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Twelve Mile with Pastor Adam Speicher officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
