Daryl L. Deitrich, 54, of Logansport passed away in his residence May 8, 2015 at 11:02 AM.
Born on June 17, 1960 in Logansport, he was the son of the Ronald D. Deitrich and Sandra J. Hipsher. On April 22, 1989 in Clymers, Indiana he married Ronda L. Costello who survives.
Daryl was a correctional officer for the Logansport Juvenile Correctional Facility. He was a 1978 graduate of Logansport High School, and a 1980 graduate from the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute.
Daryl served two terms on the Board of Directors for the Cass County 4-H Fair Board. He also enjoyed showing and judging 4-H animals. Daryl was a former volunteer fireman for the Clymer’s Fire Department and a board member for the Clinton TWP trustee.
Surviving along with his wife are three children, daughter, Audrey J. Deitrich, Fishers; two sons, Ross Deitrich; and Reid Deitrich, both of Logansport; mother, Sandra (Joe) Hulsizer, Logansport; two brothers, Michael (Karen) Deitrich; Robert “Bobby” Deitrich, both of Logansport; two sisters, Melissa (Art) Newman, Winamac; Lisa Deitrich, Logansport; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald D. Deitrich.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Angel Rea officiating. Burial will be in the St. Johns Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday also in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family to establish a scholarship fund in memory of Daryl.
