Jean K. Grotelueschen, age 88, Logansport, passed away at 2:13 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015, in her residence.
Born June 2, 1926, in Neenah, Wisc., she was the daughter of James G. and Agnes Giese Kellett.
On January 6, 1951, at St. Patrick’s Church, Menasha, Wisc., she was married to Oliver H. “Duff” Grotelueschen, who preceded her in death on February 10, 2004.
Jean earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Marquette University, where she was a member of Alpha Tau Delta nursing sorority.
She was an American Red Cross volunteer nurse for the blood bank and cancer detection clinic. She also volunteered to provide first aid for Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops.
She had been a member of the Florence Nightingale Club for nurses and Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority.
She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Ladies Society and the Daughters of Isabella.
Jean loved to read and knit.
Surviving are a son, James H. (Kit) Grotelueschen, Glen Ellyn, Ill., daughter, Ann M. Mayo, Marion, Ill., brother, James A. (Jeanne) Kellett, St. Paul, MN; grandsons, John Grotelueschen, Michael Grotelueschen, Jason Kline and James Kline; great grandsons, Jay Kline and Jackson Kline; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday at Kroeger Funeral Home.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at All Saints Catholic Church, with Father Dominic Petan officiating.
Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Section of Mount Hope Cemetery.
