baker Sharon J. Baker, 71, of Logansport, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, in Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born September 3, 1943, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Mildred (Lybrook) Roll.

In October of 1967, in Logansport, she was married to George “Richard” Baker. He preceded her in death in 1987.

Sharon graduated from Washington Township High School. She was retired from the Logansport State Hospital where she had worked as an attendant supervisor, retiring after 46 years. She enjoyed her work and developed many friendships with co-workers and patients over the years.

Sharon’s hobbies included knitting and crocheting. She loved her dogs and cats. Sharon also enjoyed watching television, playing cards and mahjong.

She is survived by two daughters, Lori Fishburn and her husband Brian of Indianapolis and Lisa Baker of Logansport; two sisters, Barb Stoner and Virginia Myers, both of Florida; one granddaughter, Leigha Fishburn; three step-daughters, Lawana Leslie, Monica Burkett and Ann Lynch; and four step-grandchildren, Chris Wescott, Troy Oberlander, Susan Oberlander Smith and Janelle Hill; and two step-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service celebrating Sharon’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Celebrant Patricia Fisher officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral chapel.
