Judith Kay (Sherman) Cook, 71 of Logansport, passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family, at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015.
Born January 21, 1944, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Junior Lee and Geneva (Leazenby) Sherman . Her father was killed in action during WWII. Her mother later married Roy Leazenby Jr. who preceded her in death.
On July 16, 1984, in Logansport, she was married to Thomas L. Cook, who survives.
Judy was a graduate of Logansport High School. She was retired from Alpha Industries where she had worked as a forklift operator .
A member of Lifegate Church, her faith in her Lord Jesus has delivered her beyond the suffering of this world. She and Tom enjoyed line dancing with the Undbridled Country dance club. She was also quite good shooting pool in a league play. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
Surviving with her husband are three children: Marquita Williams of Galveston ,Chuck Williams (Laura Wagner) of Logansport and Tavia Smith (Chad Smith) of Logansport; eight grandchildren: Jason Roland, Ryin Roland, Justin Williams (Jenna Prior), Brandon (Bailey) Williams, Molly Williams (Brett Cooper), Jacob Smith, Khloe Smith and Logan Wagner; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister Jackie (Ron)Stover of Twelve Mile; one brother Cary (Sue) Leazenby of Monticello; five sisters-in-law Angie Leazenby and Rose Leazenby, both of Logansport, Mary Pat Lacey of Georgia, Penny (David) Lancaster of Virginia and Diana (Michael) Corson of Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and step-father, she was preceded in death by two brothers Joe and Rick Leazenby
A funeral service celebrating the life of Judy Cook will be held at noon on Monday, July 27, 2015, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, at with Pastor Bob Gray officiating.
Interment will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 26th in the funeral chapel.
