Robert Frederick “Bob” Shepard

Robert Frederick “Bob” Shepard, 88, Royal Center, passed away at 10:07 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in Woodbridge Health Campus.
Born October 21, 1926, in Bluffton, Indiana, he was the son of the late Leon and Eva Shepard.
On Dec. 22, 1983, he was married to Lois (Leach) Shepard, who survives.
Bob was a graduate of Bluffton High School and later attended trade school. Early in Bob’s life he worked for several newspapers as a typesetter. He also worked as an electrician for over 25 years.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in WWII after the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Bob enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Dennis (Barbara Ann) Hayden, of Lucerne, Donald Shepard, of Logansport, Joseph (Wilma) Shepard, of Logansport; two daughters, Carol (Jay) Pursch, of Logansport, Beverly (Robert) Sargent, of Indianapolis; one sister Doris Smith, of Keystone; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother William Shepard.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Bob Shepard will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Debi Sanders officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the time of the service.
Burial, with full military rites, will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
