Roger Morris Jacks

jacksRoger Morris Jacks, 64, of Royal Center, passed away at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Peru.

Born on August 8, 1950 in Rensselaer, he was the son of the late Robert “Bob” and Martha (Runk) Jacks.

Roger attended school in Royal Center and also served in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Thailand, Guam and England.

He worked for Boatman Drilling out of Fishers, IN. and later as a carpenter and flooring installer.

Roger had a green thumb as he could grow beautiful flowers and fruit trees, even grafting different apples and fruits on a single tree which he had learned from Mr. Roger Kraining many years ago.  He loved to ice fish, drink coffee with his friends at the Royal Center Café and spending time with his family.

Roger was also quite a character and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his daughter, Catherine “Sis” Eastham (Mike) of Burlington, brothers, Mick Jacks (Sandy) of Logansport, PJ Jacks (Susie) of Logansport and Scott Jacks (Danell) of Royal Center, grandchildren, Brandon Eastham (Katelyn), Michael Eastham and Amber Eastham, great grandson, Cameron Eastham and nieces, Gina Miller (John) and Rebecca Jacks.

He was also preceded in death by brother, Digby Jacks.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2015 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center.

Full Military Rites will be performed at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #60, Logansport.
