Shirley C. Thomas, 80, of Logansport, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 in her residence.
Born on October 18, 1934 in Star City, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Dorothy M. (Hiatt) Gast. Shirley was married to James Thomas who preceded in death on July 26, 1979.
Shirley was a retired teacher from the Caston School Corporation, a member of the Cass County Retired Teachers Association and First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two nephews, Brad Gast, Culver; Rob Gast, Rochester; great nieces and nephews, Devin Gast, Chandler Gast, Cameron Gast, and Courtney Gast; great great nephew, Gabriel Gast; sister in law, Mary Lou Thomas, Logansport; extended family, Robin (Alan) Page; Emily Nictora; Alaina Page.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Thomas, and two brothers, Robert and Marvin Gast.
A celebration of life will be held at Noon on Thursday, July 16, 2015 in the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel in Logansport with Rev. Don Cline officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the cemetery chapel.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Logansport.
