Cass County Sheriff’s Department K9 finishes first at K9 Olympics

During the week of August 24-28, Deputy John O’Connor and his canine, Kimba, competed in the American Working Dog Canine Olympics held at Vohne Liche Kennels in Miami County. Canine Kimba and Deputy John O’Connor achieved the first place award in the tracking competition. Canine Kimba competed against 115 dogs in that event.

American Working Dog Canine Olympics consist of several law enforcement agencies from all over the world including federal agencies, military and private contractors. Events were judged in narcotics detection, explosive detection, tracking and patrol.

Deputy John O’Connor and Canine Kimba, a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois received a plaque for their first place finish.
