allenMichael J. Allen, age 73, Logansport, passed away at 5:21 a.m., on Saturday, October 10, 2015, in Memorial Hospital.

Born in Logansport, on August 15, 1942, he was the son of Calvin H. and Norma Leffert Allen.
On February 20, 1972, in Logansport, he was married to Mildred L. Jackson, who survives.

Mike had been a heavy equipment operator for 20 years, retiring in 2002 from Slusser’s Green Thumb.

An avid cat-fisherman, he loved landing big flathead catfish found along the banks of the Wabash River.  Enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, teaching each one how to ‘fish the Wabash’.

Also surviving are a brother, Jerry Allen, Delphi; Sister, Susan (Dave) Kelley, Logansport; brothers-in-law, Paul Jackson, Lebanon, Tenn. and Dale Downs, Logansport; sisters-in-law, Reba Shoemake, Gordonsville, Tenn., Frances Craigmile and Joyce Bogle, both of Smithville, Tenn.,
and several nieces and nephews.

A private service was held at Kroeger Funeral Home, followed by burial in St. John’s Cemetery.
