mclochlinShawn E. McLochlin, age 42, Logansport, passed away at 3:25 p.m., on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, in his residence.

Born in Logansport on October 5, 1973, he was the son of Donald E. McLochlin and Brenda Berkshire (McLochlin) Clark.

On September 5, 1998, in Logansport, he was married to Kim Carroll, who survives, in Logansport.

A 1992 graduate of Lewis Cass High School, he was a certified welding instructor at the Century Career Center at Logansport High School. He and Kim were also the former owners of Bolin’s Donut Shop.

He attended Life Gate Church.

Shawn was the most wonderful husband and an incredible father, never wanting to be a ‘good daddy’, but instead, a ‘Godly daddy”. He was a friend, on call 24/7. He attended the Great Banquet #27 in 2010, loving his relationship with the Lord, and encouraged others to follow the way.

He enjoyed “ice riding” at Lake Cicott, deer hunting, boating, bass fishing, and camping with his family and friends.

Hundreds of kids would say he was their “coach” in football, baseball, or softball. His time was spent on the field, not in the stands. To his beloved students at the LCSC Century Career Center Welding Program, Mr. McLochlin wasn’t your “coach” or “teacher”, he was the Instructor of Life Lessons.

Shawn loved to ride and fly, participating in, and following, the AMA-Motocross Circuit.

Kim knew that Tuesday, October 20th would be the day he would join her mom, Carol; exactly three years to the day of her passing.

Above all, his relationship with the Lord was of utmost importance. Welcome to heaven, #839.

Also surviving are his children, Shadd, Drake, and Laine, all at home; mother and step-father, Brenda and Matt Clark, Galveston; brothers, Shane McLochlin, Lafayette and Zach Setser, Logansport; sister, Shannon McLochlin, Logansport; step-mother, Jeannie McLochlin, Logansport; father-in-law, Robert Carroll, Logansport; sister-in-law, Krista Carroll, Logansport; nieces and nephews, Tyler Buell, Bailey Setser, Josie Carden, and Chloe Richards.

Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Donnie McLochlin, mother-in-law, Carol Carroll, and sister-in-law, Kelly Carroll Buell.

Passing by Shawn’s casket will be held from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., with the funeral beginning at 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Life Gate Church, with Pastors Andy Weil and Bob Gray officiating.

A Motocross procession to Mount Hope Cemetery will be on Sunday, NOVEMBER 1, 2015. Details will be announced on Kroeger Funeral Home’s website on Tuesday, October 27.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawn McLochlin Benefit Fund, Security Federal Savings Bank, 314 Fourth Street, Logansport, IN 46947.
