Thelma Gertrude Wells

Thelma Gertrude Wells, 95, Logansport, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, in her home.

 Born May 23, 1920, in Reynolds, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Edna Sophia Smith Ruemler.

She was married to James Alexander Wells III who preceded her in death in 1979.

A homemaker, Thelma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Thelma was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.She enjoyed playing bridge, doing needlepoint and reading. She loved fashionable clothing and had a flair for home decorating. Thelma was also interested in the stock market.

Surviving are four children: Dr. John (Marilyn) Wells of West Lafayette, Dianne E. Hughes and Mary (Tom) Eckert, all of Madison and James (Faye) Wells IV of Logansport; grandchildren, Shelley Wells, Mary Speiser, Kathy Fox, John Hughes, Danny Wells, John Zink, Riley Zink, James Wells, Justin Wells and Shawn M. Gregory; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son-in-law Mel Hughes; three sisters Norma Vineyard, Edith Seybold and Verna Watkins; and one brother Carl Ruemler.

A private family service will be held at the Mount Hope Cemetery chapel with Rev. K.C. Dehning officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church.
