Phyllis Ann Rossi

phyllis.rossiPhyllis Ann Rossi, 67, of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, following a massive stroke.

Born May 18, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Herbert G. and Shirley (Pugsley) Rice.

Phyllis was a 1966  graduate of Logansport High School.

In 1997, she opened The Dessert Haus Bake Shoppe on North 6th Street. Phyllis was an excellent baker and had made cakes for thousands of birthdays, weddings and special occasions over the past forty years. She greeted each customer with that warm smile of hers and “the cake lady” was endeared to many who frequented her shop. She was a member of the ICES professional cake decorating society.

Phyllis was very active in the Main Street United Methodist Church. She loved her church family. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Cass County Family Y with her daughter’s painting class.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole Sherrill Braun and her husband John and Heather Sherrill Corn and her husband Gerald, all of Logansport; one brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Dayle Ann Rice, of Marion; one sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Steve Garten, of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; five grandchildren, Emily Corn, Adam Corn, Aaron Corn, Callie Braun and McKenna Braun and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Phyllis Rossi will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7th in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Damon Soper officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6th in the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church.
