Amelia M. Wise, 98, of Logansport, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Lakeview Commons Assisted Living Facility in Monticello.
Born on April 23, 1917 in St. Joseph, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Ethel (Bolen) Stoughton. On February 21, 1940 in Bourbon, IN she married Dallas A. Wise who preceded in death on August 12, 1996.
Amelia worked as an inspector for Peters and Revington Company of Delphi. She was a graduate of Royal Center High School, an active member of the Miami Baptist Church, and the Cass County Home Extension Club. Amelia enjoyed crocheting, painting, and quilting over the years. She finished her last quilt when she was 93 years old. Amelia enjoyed her church family .
Surviving are two daughters, Penny (Michael) Thomas, Monticello; Fran (Steve) Yerkes, Logansport; sister, Mildred Hoff, Mooresville, NC; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Duane Wise; two sisters, Iona Strong, Rosabel Gillum and two brothers, Russell and Orlin Stoughton.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Daisok Panmei officiating. Burial will be in the Camden Cemetery, Camden, IN.
Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Miami Baptist Church.
