Dennis R. “Doc” Quillen

quillenDennis R. “Doc” Quillen, 54, of Logansport passed away unexpectedly at 6:00 a.m., Thursday, December 10, 2015 at his residence.

Born on July 19, 1961 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Bobby and Loraine (Carter) Quillen.

He was a 1979 Logansport High School graduate.  Dennis also received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and IT Management.

Dennis was a proud member of IBEW Local #668 where he was an Electrician and Journeyman.

Dennis was a hard worker who enjoyed helping people, playing practical jokes, telling a good story and generous to a fault.   He was an avid IU Basketball and Chicago Bears fan.  Dennis was also an avid reader who was known to never miss a meal.

Survivors include his sisters, Jennie James (Joe) of Logansport, Kimberly Quillen of Lafayette and Amy Quillen-Pumel (Mark) of Kokomo, nieces and nephews, Joel James, Derreck James, Amelissa James, Derian James, Justin James, Amichaela James, Alyssa Dicristo,  Tara Malott, and Mariah Malott and step son’s, Justin Thomas and Nick Thomas.  He is also survived by 6 great nieces and nephews and his beloved and spoiled dog “Lexi”.

He was also preceded in death by sister, Gayle Adams and longtime pet companion, “Cheech”.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2015 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Ellison officiating.

Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park in Logansport.
