Euleta C. Hand

handEuleta C. Hand, 98, Greenville, SC; formerly of Logansport, and New Port Richie, Florida, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at her residence.

Born on June 19, 1917 in Cass County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Charles V. and Viola E. (Tam) Whiteman.  On June 1, 1941 in Logansport she married Oliver G. Hand who preceded in death October 27, 1993.

Euleta was the former owner and operator of the Beauty Box. She had also worked at Wilma’s Beauty Shop and Arlene’s Beauty Chair.  Euleta was a 1935 graduate of Logansport High School and a 1938 graduate of the Rainbow Beauty School.

Euleta was formerly  a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church where she had been the church organist for twenty one years. She was currently a member of the Gideon’s International Auxiliary and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Taylors, South Carolina.

Surviving is one son, Dr. Richard L. (Lois) Hand, Greenville, SC; brother, Leon (Marilyn) Whiteman, Lititz, PA; four grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Euleta was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday Dec. 11, 2015 in the Faith Baptist Church, 500 W. Lee Rd., Taylors, SC with Pastor John Monroe officiating and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 14, 2015 in the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel, Logansport, IN with Dr. Richard Hand officiating.  Burial will follow in the cemetery.
