Ondah R. Pickens

pickensOndah R. Pickens, 89, Lucerne, passed away Tuesday December 29, 2015 in her residence.

Born January 17, 1926 in Kokomo, she was the daughter to the late William M. and Olive G. (Bundy) Manning.

On May 23 in 1943 in the Metea Baptist Church she married Ralph Pickens who survives.

Ondah retired from Hamilton Standard in 1986, formerly the R.B.M, after 41 years of service as a Personnel Specialist. She was a member of the Metea Baptist Church where she was a former church moderator. She was a member of the Royal Center Order of Eastern Star and former O.E.S. District Deputy of District 18 Order of Eastern Star. Ondah would always say to “go and make it a good day”

Surviving along with her husband Ralph are two daughters, Sheila (Jack) Anthony, Louisville, KY; Raenae (Carl) Overmyer, Rochester, IN; six grandchildren, Matthew Anthony and Fiancé Sydney O’Bryan , Louisville, KY; David (Angie) Overmyer, Rochester, IN; Ben Overmyer, Rochester, IN; Sarah Anderson and John, Westbrook, Maine; Grace (David) Miller, Fishers, IN; Hannah (Rich) Goforth, Pittsburgh, PA; six great grandchildren, Dawson Overmyer, Mia Overmyer, Arya Goforth, Evie Goforth, Charlotte Goforth, Naomi Miller; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

One brother, Edward Glenn Manning, preceded in death.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 4, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastors Mark Foreman and Tyler Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the Metea Cemetery in Metea, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 3, 2016 also in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Metea Baptist Church.
