Martha “Jane” Conklin

conklinMartha ‘Jane’ Conklin, age 93, Logansport, passed away 3:21 am on  Friday, January 8, 2016, at Chase Center.

Born February 25, 1922, in Cass County, she was the daughter of  Clarence A. and Margaret Conn Fultz.

On April 13, 1943, in Logansport, she was married to Emmanuel Frank  Conklin, who preceded her in death on March 29, 1996.

A 1940 graduate of Lucerne High School, Jane retired in 1987 as a  pharmacy secretary for Hook’s Drugs on North Third Street.

Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Hackett, and a son, Keith Conklin, both  of Logansport.

Five grandchildren, James R. (Wendy) Hackett, Jr., Kokomo, Connie (Bill)  Nealis, Peru, Traci Nikitaras (Steve) McBride, Logansport, Brian (Sue)  Conklin, Indiana, and Kim Conklin, California; nine great grandchildren,  Jimmy Hackett III, Dustin Hackett, Anthony Hackett, Brad (Cassie)  McCarty, Brian McCarty, Angela (Joel) Martinez, Alex Nikitaras, Timothy Nikitaras, Mikey Pigg; five great-great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter due in March.

Preceding in death were a son-in-law, James Hackett, Sr., grandson, John Nikitaras, two brothers and four sisters.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, at Kroeger Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Phillips officiating.

Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., also at the funeral  home

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
