Janet “Nana” Alicia Prophitt

Janet “Nana” Alicia Prophitt, 53, Logansport, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016, in her home surrounded by her family.
Born April 15, 1962, in Sumter, SC, she was the daughter of Alicia (Wood) Meacham and the late James L. Meacham Jr. Her mother survives in Logansport.
On March 16, 1999, in Logansport, she was married to Paul Jerome Prophitt, who survives.
A 1980 graduate of Logansport High School, Janet previously worked as a caretaker at Camelot and the LAJSSC program.
Janet belonged to Chapel Ministries Outreach. An excellent cook, she loved to bake. Janet enjoyed painting and crafts. She especially loved her grandchildren and was “Nana” or “Mom” to everyone.
Surviving with her husband and mother are her children: Amanda Prophitt, Michael (Kim) Prophitt, Kimberly Flowers, Brett (Ashlie)Kepner, Mikey Prophitt and Tony Prophitt; sisters Paulette Meacham and Cindy Gaby; grandchildren: Brayden Kepner, Domanic Flowers, Psalm Prophitt, Ember Prophitt and Leo Mohr; nieces & nephews Alvin and Katelynn Smith,Taylor, Tate and Austin Gaby.
Also preceding in death were one brother James Alvin Meacham; infant twin brothers, and grandson, Elijah Prophitt.
A funeral service celebrating Janet’s life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday Feb. 18 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rob Clover and Tom Robbins officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral chapel to assist with final expenses.
